For the first time in history, the Rugby 2027 World Cup expands to 24 nations. From 1 October to 13 November 2027, the tournament spans an entire continent — 52 matches across Perth, Adelaide, Melbourne, Newcastle, Townsville, Brisbane and Sydney. A brand-new Round of 16 adds more knockout rugby, more drama and more chances for upsets.
The pool stage delivers one of the most anticipated matchups in the sport's history: for the first time ever at a Rugby World Cup, Australia and New Zealand meet in the pool stage — the sport's greatest rivalry, finally on the biggest stage. The final takes place at Stadium Australia in Sydney on 13 November.
