23 July / Day 3: Auckland - Karangahake gorge - Tauranga

During our city tour with a professional guide you will visit Albert park with view to Auckland University, Domain park with Auckland Museum, Mount Eden where you will enjoy 360 degrees city panorama. Then, explore Muriway beach with a gannet colony and black sand. Enjoy lunch at one of Kumeu’s wineries (entrance is not included in a standard price) on our way to Karangahake gorge through a small town Paeroa to take an easy loop track through caves and suspended bridges with dramatic gorge views. Once we check in a hotel, spend an evening at leisure in Tauranga for tracking, surfing, shopping or exploring local bars and restaurants.

24 July / Day 4: Tauranga - Rotorua

Start your day with delicious breakfast before we drive from Tauranga to Kaituna River. Soak in the hot pools at Manupiua after white water rafting on the Kaituna river (2 hours for rafting + 2.5 hours for the hot pools). Then we cross Lake Rotoiti by water taxi and arrive to our hotel for check-in. Evening at leisure.

25 July / Day 5: Rotorua

Today, we visit Agrodome with its world-famous Farm Show, a must-see for any visitor. Learn fascinating facts, but also stop off to get up close and personal with all kinds of friendly animals: sheep, deer, cattle, pigs, ostrich, llamas & alpaca! Then, ride the gondola to Skyline Rotorua, high on the side of Mount Ngongotaha for the most stunning panoramic views of Lake Rotorua. Enjoy your lunch in the Stratosfare Restaurant set under the skies atop Mount Ngongotaha (lunch is not included). We go back to the town and visit 3D Trick Art Gallery, the first and only 3D gallery in the country. In the evening, take a guided tour at Te Puia, an iconic destination for those wishing to immerse themselves in Maori culture and tradition and witness first-hand the power and spectacle of the geothermal forces that New Zealand is built on. Enjoy the dinner and traditional Maori songs and dances including the world famous Haka. Finish the tour with a cup of Hot Chocolate and Steamed Pudding looking at the world-famous Pohutu Geyser.

26 July / Day 6: Rotorua - Orakei Korako - Huka Falls - Taupo

One of the most amazing New Zealand activities awaits us today in Orakei Korako geothermal park: the Hukafalls Jet Ride! Travelling an incredible 50 mph low on the water, skimming past cliffs and trees, powering along a beautiful river environment before gripping on during the trademark 360-degree spin is an adrenaline-pumping experience you’ll never forget! Then try delicious local fresh prawns at the restaurant of Huka Prawn Park (not included in a standard price). While you're waiting for the meal, don't miss a chance to take the foot SPA bath which is located outside the restaurant. Transfer from Taupo to Wellington will take about 5 hours.

27 July / Day 7: USA vs Netherlands

Another big day today, the second game - USA vs Netherlands. A return group transfer to Wellington Regional Stadium is provided. After the game, grab a beer or two in the best local pubs, or spend night out in New Zealand's capital. We can tell from experience, these guys at the end of the world know a lot about entertainment!

28 July / Day 8: Wellington - New Plymouth

Take an early breakfast and prepare for a busy day. Start with a city tour and visit The Parliament (Beehive), Cable car, Botanic gardens, Te Papa Tongarewa museum, Mount Victoria lookout. The capital of New Zealand - Wellington has been recently labelled the 'coolest little capital in the world' by Lonely Planet, as well as the world's most liveable city. This city is a home to the National Archives, the National Library, the Te Papa National Museum, numerous theatres, and two universities. Wellington, that is famed for its vibrant creative culture driven by the arts, cuisine, wine, coffee and events, is a launch point for multiple tour and outdoor activities, as well as a crossing point to the South Island. Ride the historic cable car from Lambton Quay to the lookout at the top, then walk back through the beautiful Botanic Gardens. Wander along Wellington's eminently walkable waterfront round to Oriental Bay, shop in the bohemian Cuba Street or enjoy the 360-degree views from the top of Mount Victoria. Of course, you can't leave without visiting the Weta Cave, where you can glimpse the artistry behind some of the world's most spectacular movies. After lunch, we drive to New Plymouth (about 5 h) and check in.

29 July / Day 9: New Plymouth – Waitomo

We've planned a sporting day today. We start with an easy hiking experience to enjoy views of Mount Taranaki. According to Maori mythology the volcano Mt Taranaki once stood in the center of the North Island near the volcanoes of Tongariro, Ruapehu, and Ngauruhoe. However, Taranaki and Tongariro clashed for the right to be the husband of another mountain, the beautiful Pihanga. Tongariro drove Taranaki southwest towards the coast where the modern city of New Plymouth is situated today. Since that time he has stood there alone and the eruptions of Mt Tongariro remind Taranaki that there is no way back for him. A view from above shows that the picturesque Taranaki has a perfectly round base. Its height is 2518 meters above sea level and the last eruption occurred in 1854. In 1881 the Egmont National Park was founded around the volcano - a paradise for lovers of hiking and the great outdoors activities. The Goblin Forest, one of the natural filming locations of the movie The Lord of the Rings, is located within it. Also, we visit a spectacular Te Rewa Rewa bridge and continue our way to Waitomo.

30 July / Day 10: Waitomo Caves – Hobbiton - Auckland

We wake up early in the morning, have breakfast departing a hotel at 08.30 am to start an amazing tour to Waitomo Glowworm Cave. The name 'Waitomo' comes from the Maori words wai - water and tomo - a hole or a shaft. So Waitomo is naturally home to many awe-inspiring subterranean sights. Huge underground caverns that you can abseil into, serene boat rides along ancient watercourses and, of course, the glow worms. World-renowned, the caves are a magical experience with the lights from thousands of exclusively NZ glow worms illuminating the pitch-black cave system full of ancient stalagmites and stalactites. Continue our way to Hobbiton and open a door to the most famous fairy tail in the world! Whether you are 'The Lord of the Rings' fan or not, you just can't miss the opportunity to gain a first-hand insight into filming of one of the most acclaimed movie sagas of all times! Get up close with over 44 hobbit holes from the film including Bilbo's Bag End & Sam Gamgee's house, dance under the party tree or swig back a beer at the Green Dragon Inn. Enjoy a lunch at Shire Rest Café (not included in the price) before we take off for Hamilton at about 4 pm. Return to Auckland.

31 July / Day 11: Auckland

Day at leisure. Why not spend a day at the ocean? New Zealand’s most unique whale and dolphin watching safari cruise departs from downtown Auckland. Don't miss a chance to enjoy a 4.5-hour cruise on board the luxurious yacht as we explore the beautiful Hauraki Gulf Marine Park.

1 August / Day 12: Wine Tour & 3rd match of USA

We start to warm ourselves up for the 3rd game of the USA team with a wine tour to Waiheke island. What can fit this day better than tasting world-class wines in a gorgeous atmosphere? 40 minute ferry ride in air-conditioned comfort will bring you to the island, where the magical blend of beach life, artisan creativity and wine culture attracts people worldwide. You’ll be met by luxury coach & be whisked away to enjoy a tour of three of Waiheke’s premier wineries. Enjoy the romantic surroundings of olive groves and rustic herb gardens as you sample the varieties on offer at award-winning Mudbrick Estate. Breath in the stunning views across the Hauraki Gulf back to Auckland from Cable Bay as you sample their fine wines, accompanied by a delicious platter. Finally, overlooking beautiful Onetangi Beach visit Te Motu Vineyard that specialises in Bordeaux-style wines. Attend the third game vs a Playoff Winner at Eden Park Arena in the evening. A group two-way transfer is provided. Night is free to celebrate, party and explore the best bars and clubs.

I decided to take my dad to the World Cup to watch Ecuador play and enjoy the opening ceremony. After some online research, I found World Of Discoveries and I am beyond glad I found them. I trusted them with all the details and our experience was exceptional. World of Discoveries personalized approach is something I beyond appreciate; the team was in touch and answer my questions super timely and very clearly (I had many many questions). I received guidance on next steps as we were approaching the world cup and I knew I was not going to miss any details because they were on top of everything. The World Cup experience was above and beyond what we expected. We didn't have to worry about anything, World of Discoveries took care of the logistics and planned everything for us! even our side trip to Dubai was unforgettable! Thankful to companies that deliver above and beyond expectations and help us make memories that we will cherish forever. I can't wait for our next adventure!

We came across WOFDI last spring when we were trying to figure out how to attend the World Cup. The staff at WOFDI organized game tickets and accommodation for us. Communication was excellent throughout. They provided airport transfer and cultural tours as well. Wonderful experience!

World of discoveries went above and beyond on the World Cup tour, aside from the tour in Qatar they helped us and manage the logistics to get small 2-3 day tours to Egypt and Jordan in a marathon but memorable 16 days trip. We got to be in 2 of the 5 wonders of the world (Egyptian Pyramids & Petra; among other places) Everything they promised they delivered and always check on each and everyone on our group of 7. Helen from Spain did all the paper work and signed us up and the the land crew that greeted us in Doha were just perfect! Very well recommended and for the next World Cup and the Olympics they will be our go to people for the planning for a great experience such as Qatar 2022. Well done Wofdi!! Kudos to everyone of you!!! (Helen, Michael, Anna, Lina, Varya, among others) don’t meant to leave anyone out intentionally!!

The World of Discoveries team made organising a complex holiday to the Qatar World Cup a breeze. My initial contact, Michael, managed to bring the cost of the holiday in line with my budget where other travel agents told me or would be impossible. On the ground we had a great experience on the desert tour and generally had a ball. Thank you

WOD is a company you can trust and feel comfortable asking for anything to make your experience better. I just traveled to the 2022 World Cup with them and it was a blast. Everything nicely coordinated and great constant service and communication.
