12 Aug / Day 1: Arrival at Auckland
Welcome to the City of Sails, Auckland! Take a private transfer to a hotel and rest after a long-haul international flight.
13 Aug/ Day 2: Auckland – Waitomo – Hobbiton – Rotorua
Today you are starting a 2-day guided tour The Highlights of North Island. First, we discover amazing Waitomo Caves. The name 'Waitomo' comes from the Maori words wai - water and tomo - a hole or a shaft. So Waitomo is naturally home to many awe-inspiring subterranean sights. Huge underground caverns that you can abseil into, serene boat rides along ancient watercourses and, of course, the glow worms. World-renowned, the caves are a magical experience with the lights from thousands of exclusively NZ glow worms illuminating the pitch-black cave system full of ancient stalagmites and stalactites. Continue our way to Hobbiton and open a door to the most famous fairy tail in the world! Wether you are 'The Lord of the Rings' fan or not, you just can't miss the opportunity to gain a first-hand insight into filming of one of the most acclaimed movie sagas of all times! Get up close with over 44 hobbit holes from the film including Bilbo's Bag End & Sam Gamgee's house, dance under the party tree or swig back a beer at the Green Dragon Inn. Transfer to Rotorua, check in and relax in Polynesian, the iconic New Zealand SPA complex. You will soak in tranquil waters of the lake SPA with views on Lake Rotorua. (extra treatments should be booked in advance).
14 Aug / Day 3: Rotorua – Auckland
Take a tour to the only living geothermal Maori village. Whakarewarewa is gifted with geothermal vents that provide life-giving and sustaining energy resources. You will experience an authentic living Maori village where people use natural geothermal resources to cook, bathe and heat their homes. If you are lucky enough you will observe Pohutu geyser eruption. You will learn about the vibrant Maori culture and the traditions of your hosts, the Tuhourangi/Ngati Wahiao tribe. At a Maori cultural performance by one of the leading Kara Hake Groups you’ll hear traditional song and dance & witness the fearsome Hake. From the communal outdoor living area (Rahui) & the Wahiaoour ancestral meeting place, to the pre-school (Kohanga Reo) which played its part in revitalising the Maori language, and the village cemetery of both Catholic and Anglican churches (the missionary influence), your Maori experience will be almost complete. The final element will be the Hangi meal, with foods traditionally cooked in the natural steam vents and hot pools. Yumm! Driving back to Auckland will take about 4 hours.

We came across WOFDI last spring when we were trying to figure out how to attend the World Cup. The staff at WOFDI organized game tickets and accommodation for us. Communication was excellent throughout. They provided airport transfer and cultural tours as well. Wonderful experience!

World of discoveries went above and beyond on the World Cup tour, aside from the tour in Qatar they helped us and manage the logistics to get small 2-3 day tours to Egypt and Jordan in a marathon but memorable 16 days trip. We got to be in 2 of the 5 wonders of the world (Egyptian Pyramids & Petra; among other places) Everything they promised they delivered and always check on each and everyone on our group of 7. Helen from Spain did all the paper work and signed us up and the the land crew that greeted us in Doha were just perfect! Very well recommended and for the next World Cup and the Olympics they will be our go to people for the planning for a great experience such as Qatar 2022. Well done Wofdi!! Kudos to everyone of you!!! (Helen, Michael, Anna, Lina, Varya, among others) don’t meant to leave anyone out intentionally!!
